He graduated from the Australian National University in 2007. He majored in Jazz Performance on the alto saxophone, and has performed and taught locally and overseas to a great extent. He was also the lead altoist of the University Big Band. During his time there, he has even performed with and learnt from Jazz greats such as Bob Mintzer, Mark Levine, Jamie Oehlers.
Playing style is shaped from influences of a few Jazz greats, such as Phil Woods, Richie Cole, Don Menza, Chris Potter, and Francesco Cafiso. He plays mainly Swing and Bebop, Big Band, Bossa Nova, and Jazz Fusion.
With a very busy schedule since his return to Singapore in 2010, he teaches the Jazz saxophone to private students, and plays for gigs at parties, weddings and corporate events as a session musician. He is also the Arranging Lecturer for graduating DMAT students at Singapore Polytechnic and the lead altoist for the Singapore Jazz Orchestra.
