Violinist KD
She found her passion in music when she started on the piano at age 6 and later on the violin when she was 10. After getting her Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Trinity College of London at age 13, she applied to the Idyllwild Arts Academy for Violin Performance and was accepted. She graduated from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance as well as a minor in Business Administration. While in Boston University, she studied with Yuri Mazurkevich, who was a student of the great David Oistrakh.
She has been active in the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, Orchestra of the Music Makers, and has played for Mediacorp's 'The Final One'. She performed at various venues all over Singapore and the United states - such as the Esplanade Concert Hall, The Star Performing Arts Centre, Boston Symphony Hall, and REDCAT in the Walt Disney Concert Hall. She has also recorded an album with Richard Thompson, “Cabaret of Souls”, released on Beeswing Records.
