Chinese New Year Fringe Activities 2018 @ VivoCity
GONG XI FA CAI 2018!
Lunar new year is one of the biggest holiday in Singapore. It is traditionally celebrated for 16 days, from the eve to Spring Lantern Festival.
VivoCity engaged Ooffle to curate a series of fringe activities to paint the town red during the first month of the lunisolar Chinese calendar. We arranged roving auspicious mascots, Talko drums and hip hop Lion Dance to spread the prosperousness and festive cheer. The fun endearing mascots added much joy to both young and old, we see people eagerly flip out their phones to capture these emblems of prosperity. The Talko drums added high vitality as they beat with zest to welcome the lunar year of the dog. Lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year because of its association with the legends of Nian, we gave a Hip Hop twist to the Lion Dance to match the modernity of VivoCity. This year, we also provided our exclusive act, the roving hip-hop baby lion dancers!
Many commuters visited VivoCity to enjoy all the upbeat activities this Chinese new year.
