ASTAR EVENT @ THE HUB ROLLS ROYCE 2025

Title: Default Title

A Benchmark of Technological and Precision Innovation

The “Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab (SMJL) Phase 2 Launch Ceremony”, meticulously planned and executed by Ooffle, was successfully held in Singapore on October 3, 2025.

Jointly organized by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Rolls-Royce, and the Singapore Aero Engine Services Limited (SAESL), the event marked a significant milestone in strengthening strategic collaboration across aerospace manufacturing and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) technologies.

The launch unveiled four major joint R&D projects with a total investment of SGD 55 million, including nearly SGD 34 million dedicated to SMJL Phase 2.
This initiative focuses on additive manufacturing, intelligent inspection, and AI-driven process optimization, expected to increase Rolls-Royce’s Singapore fan blade production capacity by 30%, boost SAESL’s repair capacity by 40% by 2028, and create 500 high-skilled jobs — reinforcing Singapore’s position as a global leader in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance.

As the appointed event planner and producer, Ooffle oversaw the creative design, stage and AV system setup, brand visuals, and full on-site coordination, crafting an immersive and world-class experience for this international R&D collaboration launch.
The event not only highlighted Singapore’s innovation strength in advanced manufacturing but also showcased Ooffle’s dedication to excellence and precision in high-profile corporate productions.

Stage and LED System

The main stage featured a large platform finished with black carpeting and dual side stairways.
Despite a 3.5m ceiling height constraint, Ooffle achieved structural precision and visual balance through expert spatial planning.

The backdrop comprised a main LED screen and two side screens, powered by the Magnimage V6 controller, Vmix playback system, and dual laptops, delivering bright visuals, seamless transitions, and real-time synchronization.

Stage Setup and Décor

The stage included a black lectern with branded signage and two signing tables with skirting.
A 7.5m greenery installation adorned the stage front, blending natural elements with technological aesthetics — reflecting the scientific spirit of the SMJL initiative.

Lighting and Audio System

The lighting system featured an Avolite console, front lights, 400W moving heads, and dual lighting stands, enabling precise control of stage ambience and intensity.
The audio setup included main speakers, subwoofers, stage monitors, wireless microphones, gooseneck mics, and intercom units, operated by professional sound engineers.
A multi-zone sound configuration ensured synchronized and clear transmission across multiple exhibit areas.

Hosting and Program Execution

The ceremony was hosted by professional emcee Evangeline Long, who has extensive experience in ministerial-level events.
Her four-hour hosting service included two script revisions, virtual coordination, and an optional rehearsal.
Her articulate delivery and steady pacing kept the program cohesive and engaging throughout the entire launch.

Exhibition and Display Zones

Multiple display zones and branding areas were constructed, including:

  • Four stainless steel commemorative plaques

  • One rotating dual-sided plaque stand

  • Four lightbox showcases (covering SME and Rolls-Royce exhibits)

  • Six mobile TV screens

Additional LED lightbox panels and outdoor branded banners created a seamless and consistent visual identity throughout the venue.

Guest Experience and Registration

A dedicated registration zone with two staff members handled guest check-ins, badge printing, and data collection.
Ooffle provided name badges, clips, and branded lightbox signboards, while the guided tour team utilized wireless waist microphones, flags, and color-coded stickers to ensure smooth group navigation and coordination.

Catering and VIP Lounge

The event featured tea reception and buffet lunch for 230 guests, along with a VIP lounge for 15 guests offering coffee, tea, and light refreshments.
Cocktail tables and premium bento sets were provided to facilitate networking and comfort.

Execution and Management Team

The Ooffle operations team comprised one show caller, one stage manager, and two stage assistants, conducting a full technical rehearsal before the event.
An exhibition manager was also stationed on-site for three days.

The team efficiently completed rapid setup (October 1–3), safety gear deployment (20 pairs of protective shoes), and last-minute updates such as additional nameplates and signage — ensuring flawless execution under tight timelines.
